Luca Bacchetti - Afrikaans

Luca Bacchetti- Afrikaans
Ovum
Nominated for the "Best Minimal Artist" category at BMA (Beatport Music Awards) last year, Luca Bachetti deserves to be called as one of the most important and domineering men of the Italian minimal scene.

He has released and remixed for so many good labels (Wagon Repair, Ovum, Tenax, Minisketch, Safari Electronique, Sci+Tec, Supernature, Meeristief, Glueckskind, Saw and Viva Music to name a few) and is one of the few guys with a definitive and direct sound where you can tell anytime you hear that the playing track belongs to him.
Really "Luca Bachetti Sound" is some kind of a trademark and can be described as groovy, mostly funky and yet darker in the minimal sense. A little bit of pumpin' and always with a huge influence of base. This must come from his drum&bass roots and gives him a real attitude which you can exactly define in his latest Ovum EP "Afrikaans".

The name track "Afrikaans" is for the big floors, for the late night and is a straight forward minimal track made up for entering the charts and make people dance. "Al Matador" is my favourite in the EP and is the killer weapon of the EP, full of claps and effects, the track reaches the climax very early and keeps it that way so long. With a Spanish smell on it. Gives the listener or clubber to dance to two songs at a time. One is techno and the other is flamenco. This is like the Italian answer to the recent Quenum hit "Mokossa". Both are essential and needs real attention.

Luca Bachetti is one of the best and has to be taken really seriously about what he does. This EP from Wink's Ovum states that he is in the biggest league and will always stay like that. "Caribbean" shows how much he has travelled and what he is capable of in terms of groove and sound. What you get here is a real minimal EP from Luca Bachetti with lots of potential. No doubt that "Afrikaans" will do such good on both sales and charts. I am looking forward to see a longplayer from this talented producer, hopefully very soon.
