Rievaulx sounds as a French act but it is not. In fact he is Bryan J. Robsan, also one half of the Solar Heights project. He released from Renaissance and Guidance, as well as Boxer.
We now see him debuting on the sister label with a very good two tracker. First track "Ànimo" has a base which remembers Areal crew. Really Areal style funky bassline with Renaissance elements turned into a real Kickboxer monster.

Someone knowing the Areal sound can easily believe, and at first sight will shout that this is a Metope track! But no it is not! I don't know of any influence yet but I can say that this track could be of the best tracks in the Metope or Areal discography.
Either musically or production wise, "Ànimo" sounds like an Areal imprinted track made by a British guy instead. I hear lot's of people say this track should be released from Areal. No need for that. It is already out from Kickboxer. And it is made by Rievaulx.

He gives us "Boxing Shadows" on the B side, this time revealing what kind of Boxer sound he is capable of. Pure melodic harmony arranged with non-stop baseline and high hats. A very good start for Autumn and a very good effort from Rievaulx.
