Beat activist, founder of the 'Beat Dimensions' series, Jay Scarlett joined forces with İstanbul resident nujazz and nubeat maestro Onur Engin to form a newly label called Ubeat. They aim to fulfill the new dimensions philosophy by pushing foward wonky sounds, future hip hop and beyond.

They are really open minded people and with a rooster consisting of very talented producers all around the world they have a real vision which will lead us to delicious new forms of beats and base. Their first release is a digital compilation, a snapshot of the label and what we are likely to listen from those guys. From Italy to Sweden and the West Coast, UBeat gathers around the foremost and best beat enthusiasts and artists, to form a real sound universe full of color and harmony.

Also the artworks of Joshua Mays excellently fits the label and makes it as catchy as it is both visually and sound vise. Wonky, future hip hop, leftfield and downtempo madness is being praised in the compilation. All 7 tracks are well defined and carefully selected. This is one of the most delicious EPs for who are interested in the new side of the beats and hip hop. A very good start. Thumbs up for UBeat!
